Privacy policy

How Rosidence collects, uses and protects personal data, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

Who we are

Rosidence provides software that estates use to manage residents, dues, visitors, meetings and security. Each estate decides why and how its residents' data is used and is the data controller; we process that data on the estate's behalf. For your Rosidence account itself, we are the controller.

What we collect

  • Account: name, phone number, email address and password (stored hashed).
  • Identity: your National Identification Number (NIN), date of birth and, if your estate requires it, a selfie — used only to verify you with NIMC through our provider Dojah. Your NIN is encrypted and never shown in full, including to estate staff.
  • Estate records: the apartments you're linked to, your role, bills, payments, visitor passes, requests and messages.
  • Device: push notification tokens and basic technical logs (IP address, app version) for security.

How we use it

To run the features your estate has turned on; to verify identities; to process payments through our partners; to send notices by push, email or SMS; to keep the service secure; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Your estate's authorised staff, according to their role (guards, for example, cannot see finances). Our processors: Dojah (identity), Woven Finance (payments), Google Firebase (push notifications), our SMS provider and our hosting provider. Authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

While you belong to an estate on Rosidence, and afterwards for as long as financial and legal record-keeping requires (generally six years for payment records). Identity verification results are kept for the life of your account.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, port or delete your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit; identity numbers are also encrypted at rest. Access is role-based and sensitive actions are logged.

Changes

We'll tell you in the app before material changes take effect.
